Accident on the highways man killed

A 44-year-old man was killed on the M6 motorway in the early hours of this morning while working on the new smart motorways project in Coventry, on one of the stormiest nights of the year. A lorry skidded across the motorway into the barriers that are supposed to keep the workers safe. Killing the 44-year-old instantly.  The driver of the lorry was also killed. This is the second type of accident in the same line of work, in the last year. 

Highways England are discussing what more can be done to protect workers.
