In a Welsh town, goats came down the hill, sampling the flowers in the window box's on the window sills. Running in the road, they must wonder where the people are? shopping for their wares and driving their cars.
Hi this latest is a paragraph from a book that I am writing. Its a fantasy about a boy with Cerebral Palsy. Who discovers a magical fairground, at the other side of his fence near his house, specifically tailored for him.
'I must be dreaming', exclaimed Tom. He gave his head a shake. The fair is here on the other side of my fence. It was here the other week, it had long gone, he stared out of the window for a long time, wondering what he was going to do. He got his walking sticks and went down stairs. It took Tom a few minutes to get down the stairs, because of the stiffness in his legs. He thought the fair would have disappeared by the time he got down stairs, because it didn't seem possible it was there in the first place. As he walked towards the fairground. Waiting for him, was the Showman, the man who helped him on to the carousel, the week before, he came to greet him. He was dressed in a red jacket, pinstriped trousers and a top hat, not too different to a circus ringmaster. 'Hi Tom' he said. 'How do you know my name' said Tom. 'Don't you remember you told me your name on your, on your last visit'. I don't think I did'. How else would I know then Tom, he said kindly?' 'I don't know but I feel something truly magical is happening tonight, I must be my imagination. 'I assure you, you are not dreaming, Tom. But you are not wrong, there is a certain element of magic involved. I can guarantee that you are going to have the time of your life. You see you have been chosen, along with other children, who you shall meet next time, this trip to the fair I will give you the opportunity to show you around, and introduce you to the wonders that will be. Next time you can bring a friend of your choice and a parent along.
'Now where shall we start'? The showman touched his chin and thought for a moment. 'I know, come on young man, I am going to take you on the Helter Skelter.' Tom began to protest, I can't go on to the Helter Skelter, Its my legs you see!' 'Don't worry about that, I will carry you'. James did carry Tom all the way to the top,' you are a bit heavier than I thought Tom', James laughed. 'No problem we are here now', he said a little out of breath. James put Tom on the mat and pushed him off, down the slide. 'See you at the bottom' ! Tom went down the slide at lightning speed, going around and around, Tom couldn't believe what was happening, he felt so dizzy, it was dark and he was seeing stars and flashing lights, eventually it stopped, and he could hear the music again! James was there waiting for him, like he said. 'Give me your hand Tom', I will help you up' James helped Tom to stand. Tom couldn't believe it, the pain in his legs was gone. 'Can you walk Tom?' 'I will need my sticks' Why don't you try walking , without your sticks Tom?' 'I don't know if I can, I'm a bit scared.' 'I will catch you if you fall'. Tom tried to walk, he couldn't believe it, he could walk! The pain and the stiffness had gone. 'I must be dreaming, How can this be happening'? 'Well, I did say the fair was some what magical, maybe that's it'.
