  1. Covid-19 The Lost Summer
How did this happen ? We hear you say, a virus from Wuhan China, had come to stay.
It started in bats, then it jumped to humans, and spread. Oh no how terrible, how many dead!
The pandemic we were warned about. Had come, the last one was 1918, oh what will be done?
Almost 100 years since Spanish flu, the experts say, this isn't flu!
The weeks progressed, it didn't seem, that lessons had been learned since 1918.
We isolated, the cases that were here wasn't tested! In some countries rules wasn't followed,
    people were arrested!
If the boarders were closed in time, there would be less illness.
If planes were stopped, business saved, Covid gone by Christmas!

The Government asked us to stay at home, but every weekend the sun came out and Covid idiot roamed. Jogging and cycling and picnics too. Lots of people in their cars, out in the park till late, fishermen sat by the river, catching fish with their bate. Stay at home, we would say! Or Covid -19 will be here to stay.

The frontline workers, what a wonderful job they do, Doctors and nurses, bus drivers and supermarket workers too. Their lives in danger, how brave are they. Footballers and actors and song, not important, are they. The NHS can do no wrong. Every Thursday, we would clap and some would sing a song.

People were ill in large numbers; every day deaths were more and more. The residents in care homes were forgotten and Boris failed to keep score.

The children left school, oh they were bored, mummies across the country home taught, for the kinder they adored . They baked all things yummy, families locked down, staying indoors, Covid was not caught.

From all bad things, something positive occurred, in Venice the water was calm and clear, the modern world had cost us dear. The smog in India gone, the sky was blue, The Himalayas could be seen through the morning due. Nature had won, because all the omissions were gone!

In a Welsh town, goats came down the hill, sampling the flowers, in the box's on the window sills! Running in the road, they must wonder where the people are? Shopping for their wares and driving their cars.

One day a vaccine will be found, doctors and nurses will do their rounds.
Will life go back to normal? Will we go back to adoring celebrity?
    Will we feel tied?
The world has changed and taught us a lesson.
    We became self-absorbed.
The planet was dying, and now its repairing.
People are kind again like in the past.
I just pray it will last.
We will all go back to our lives; I hope we remember the people who died.
Lets care for our world and each other, lets learn the lesson that's been taught.
Take care of our mothers brothers sisters and friends.
don't let the kindness ever end.
